AI Issue Spotting

How about a little AI issue-spotting exercise? If you wonder what lawyers do all day, this is it. 😊

“Issue spotting” means identifying legal issues within a factual scenario or a set of circumstances.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Read and understand the facts presented in a case or scenario.

  2. Identify which legal rules, statutes, or case law may be applicable to the situation.

  3. “Spot” the legal issues that arise from the intersection of the facts with the law. An “issue” is a question or problem that requires resolution.

  4. Determine next steps; aka give legal advice about how to avoid or fix the problem.

I thought this would be a fun—using the term loosely 😂—way to look at AI legal issues from a new lens.

Here are the facts:

You are a consultant whose services involve the creation of original designs, strategic decks, creative briefs, positioning statements, brand architecture, taglines, verbal messaging, visual messaging, or logos.

Your client services agreement contains the following language:

You are considering using AI to assist with creating some or all of the deliverables.

How many issues can you spot?

Cheers! 🥂
